The Center for Cultural Affairs will participate in the Arts & Humanities Council’s First Thursdays festival

Friday, March 29, 2024

BLOOMINGTON, IN. - The Center for Cultural Affairs (CCA) will host a booth at the upcoming IU Arts & Humanities Council’s First Thursdays festival on April 4, 2024. The event will take place from 5:00-8:00pm at the IU Arts Plaza.

Each semester, the IU Arts & Humanities Council hosts the First Thursdays festival. The festival aims to promote diversity in arts and humanities at IU Bloomington through upcoming events on campus and in the local community while highlighting the creativity and scholarly work at the Bloomington campus. Through this festival, students, staff, faculty, and the local community can learn more about the various campus units and campus organizations that contribute to the vibrant cultural life of Bloomington.

The CCA table at the festival provides a place for students, faculty, visiting scholars, and special guests to participate in activities and engage in discussions about cultural affairs, test their knowledge on cultural policy, and learn about ways the center advances the understanding of the place of arts and culture in public life. “The First Thursdays festival is an exciting opportunity for the CCA to be more visible on our campus and continue to partner with Arts and Humanities units and the IU community,” says Joanna Woronkowicz, CCA faculty director.
