BLOOMINGTON, IN - The Center for Cultural Affairs has announced its schedule for the Fall 2024 Workshop in Cultural Affairs series. The 6-session workshop series will feature a diverse lineup of perspectives and topics in cultural affairs and policy, as well as feature authors from the new book, Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts.
All workshops are virtual and will take place biweekly on Wednesdays from 12-1pm EST/EDT. Workshop dates and speakers include:
- September 18, 2024 - Carole Rosenstein, Joanna Woronkowicz & Doug Noonan “Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts”
- October 2, 2024 - Justin O’Connor “Culture Is Not An Industry”
- October 16, 2024 – Dave O’Brien & Kathryn Brown “Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts"
- October 30, 2024 - Christos Makridis “The Geography and Returns Private Arts Organization”
- November 13, 2024 - Jongmin(Min) Lee & Michael Rushton “Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts”
- December 4, 2024 – Jamie Hand & Maura Cuffie “Creatives Rebuild New York Guaranteed Income Program”
Each workshop will include a 30-minute presentation from the speaker followed by 30 minutes of discussion and collaborative workshop time. “The workshop series is our most popular program at the CCA. It is a program that engages a wide range of audiences from across academia and practice and helps build a network in cultural affairs research,” says Joanna Woronkowicz, Faculty Director of the CCA.
