Fall 2025 Workshops to Begin September 24 at the CCA

BLOOMINGTON, IN - The Center for Cultural Affairs is proud to launch its Fall 2025 Workshop in Cultural Affairs Series in partnership with Professor Trine Bille with Imagine ... Centre for Creative Industries and Institutions at Copenhagen Business School. This 6-session workshop series of international collaboration brings a new focus to the series – comparative cultural policy – in which presenters explore key differences and shared challenges in cultural policy across North America and Europe, drawing on diverse case studies, initiatives, and institutional approaches.

All workshops are virtual and will take place biweekly on Wednesdays from either 9am ET/3pm CET (Central European Time) or 12pm ET/6pm CET. Workshop dates and speakers include:

  • September 24, 2025(12pm ET/6pm CET) - David Maggs“Repayable Finance in Cultural Nonprofit Sectors”
  • October 8, 2025(9 am ET/3pm CET) - Esben Danielsen and Andrea Baldin“Vouchers as a Cultural Policy Instrument: Experiences from Denmark and Italy”
  • October 22, 2025(12pm ET/6pm CET) – Jenn Chang“Introducing the Culture and Civil Society Initiative”
  • November 5, 2025(9am ET/3pm CET) – Bjarki Valtysson“AI and Cultural Policy Challenges”
  • November 19, 2025(12pm ET/6pm CET) – Terence McDonnell “Creativity at Social Scale”
  • December 10, 2025(9am ET/3pm CET) – Stina Teilmann-Lock “The Consequences of AI for Artists' Rights”

This fall’s workshops feature 30-minute presentations from a diverse lineup of speakers, followed by interactive discussion and collaborative workshop time. “The partnership between the CCA and Imagine … is an opportunity to hear different perspectives on cultural policy and hopefully to learn from one another about what kinds of policy models can contribute to public life,” says Joanna Woronkowicz, Faculty Director of the CCA.
