BLOOMINGTON, IN - The Center for Cultural Affairs has announced its schedule for the Spring 2025 Workshop in Cultural Affairs series. The 6-session workshop series will feature a diverse lineup of perspectives and topics in cultural affairs and policy, as well as feature some authors from the new book, Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts.
All workshops are virtual and will take place biweekly on Wednesdays from 12-1pm EST/EDT. Workshop dates and speakers include:
- February 12, 2025 - Leah Reisman “How Consultants Shape Nonprofits: Shared Values, Unintended Consequences”
- February 26, 2025 - Stan Renard, Antonio Cuyler, Matt Carruthers & Jason Imbesi, “Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts”
- March 12, 2025 – Andrew Zitcer & Tom Borrup “Democracy as Creative Practice: Weaving a Culture of Civic Life"
- March 26, 2025 – Wen Guo & Manuel Montoya “Innovating Institutions & Inequities in the Arts”
- April 9, 2025 – Dylan Thompson “Contributed Efficiency: Analysing the Determinants of the Technical Efficiency of the US Art Museum Sector”
- April 23, 2025 – Clément Gorin “State of the Art: Economic Development Through the Lens of Paintings”
Each workshop will include a 30-minute presentation from the speaker followed by 30 minutes of discussion and collaborative workshop time. “The workshop series has grown to be our most popular program at the CCA. It engages a wide range of audiences from across academia and practice and helps build a network in cultural affairs research,” says Joanna Woronkowicz, Faculty Director of the CCA.
