ACEI 2023

Getting to Bloomington

The Indianapolis International Airport will get you closest to Bloomington by flight. Bloomington is 44.3 mi (71.3 km) from Indianapolis, about a one-hour drive by car. Once you arrive in Indianapolis, you’ll find plenty of ground transportation options, including rental cars, shuttles, and more.

Please note that parking on IU Bloomington campus is limited, so if you reserve a rental car, you should either plan to park at the hotel parking lots or use a paid garage on campus. Because of this, we primarily recommend using the shuttle option detailed below.

Transportation to the Indiana University Bloomington Campus from the Indianapolis Airport is available by the Bloomington-based GO Express shuttle service. They offer transportation services to and from Bloomington and the Indianapolis Airport. For information on routes, times and fares, call 812-332-6004 or visit the website

Once you book your flights to and from Indianapolis, you can reserve your shuttle at the website above. Find detailed instructions here.

Also, below is a how-to video for scheduling the shuttle.

The Indianapolis International Airport offers ten car rental options at the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage. Find more information on the Indianapolis International Airport website.

Uber and Lyft services are available from the airport to your selected destination. When using these services for pick-up, exit the terminal to the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage.

Conference Venues

The conference will be held at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (primary conference venue), Hodge Hall at the Kelley School of Business (next door to the O'Neill School), and the Cook Center for Public Arts and Humanities in Maxwell Hall, all on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington. The Cook Center is about a 15 minute walk from the O’Neill School.

We encourage walking to the conference if possible. If you plan on driving and parking on campus, please park in the Fee Lane Parking Garage on 709 N. Fee Lane, Bloomington, IN 47408. Please take a parking ticket when you enter and request a parking pass upon arriving at conference registration each day. To reach the 10th Street O'Neill entrance from the Fee Lane garage, follow these instructions.
